Our Mission…

B’ville CommUnity is a non-denominational, Christian Church in Brownsville, Oregon. By faith, we honor Christ, love God and, by His Holy Spirit, serve and love others, so His message will go out in power and in truth.

Declaring His power to the next generation,
His might to all who are to come!

(Psalms 71:18b)

Our History…

Brownsville Community Church began in 1984 as a House Church in the living room of Marvin and Dana Kropf of Harrisburg, Oregon. It quickly outgrew that space, as people heard what God was doing with this group who came from several churches, many feeling disenfranchised and seeking God’s direction in their lives. Meeting briefly at Harris School on Harris Drive, just off Diamond Hill, the group, who’d by now become known as Family Bible Church, soon moved to the Rec Center in Brownsville, which became its home for the next 20 years (1985-2005).  Over the next several years, the size fluctuated, growing at one point to several hundred people, then eventually moving into a smaller building on Main Street in Brownsville for about 7 years (2005-2011).  By the time we had an opportunity to purchase the old Brownsville Presbyterian Church building, garnered a name change to Brownsville Community Church, we were, in all senses of the word, a family.

So today, we’re not so big and we’re about as simple as they come, church-wise. But we are a family of believers who know quite a bit about who we are and aren’t. We are in love with a perfect God, but we recognize daily the imperfection that is our lives, for which He died. We are folks who love to serve and we recognize our own limitations, needing to rely on His strength to accomplish anything. The team isn’t big, but our worship is deep, purposeful and Christ centered. We strive to know Jesus more deeply and genuinely, and we desire for others to know the freedom that comes from knowing Him.
